A dental laboratory technician or dental technicians
produces crowns, bridges, dentures and other dental materials for treating
a dental patients by a dental physician. The dental laboratory technician
takes digital photograph or takes measurement of mouth cavity by pasting
materials to examine the impression of dental damages. The dental technicians
make duplicate teeth for replacement of originals which are affected.
They also perform the jobs of Orthodontic dentists i.e. prevent from falling
of teeth and gives support to hold the teeth tightly. They also carry
out the jobs of ceramists’ dentists by making porcelain or acrylic
restorations.
The main duties to be performed by dental laboratory
technician are listed below:
A. Make a model of patient's mouth cavity by inserting
plaster of Paris inside the mouth.
B. Make a concept of shape and size of mouth cavity.
C. Manufacture patient's teeth in conformity with natural teeth i.e. in
same size and shape.
D. Use ceramics and metal alloys for restoration of teeth.
E. Choose best materials use to prevent from falling the teeth and to
hold the teeth tightly.
The dental technicians build dental laboratory
technician careers by dental laboratory technician programs conducted
by vocational institutions or technical schools. After completion of dental
laboratory technician school, each trainee may be certified dental technician
examination, Conducted by National Association of Dental Laboratories..
